Grounded in tradition, propelled by innovation.

The New England Conservatory of Music (NEC) has been an incubator for musical excellence since 1867. Through constant reinvention, NEC is dedicated to educating an emerging generation of musicians who will immensely impact our world through their artistry, perspectives, and passion. To channel NEC’s evolution, we introduced a fresh color palette inspired by the sights and atmosphere of their iconic Boston campus, an elegant and modern typeface, and beautiful photography that emphasizes the educational process.

The new website began with an extensive discovery process that included numerous interviews with the NEC community, a site architecture audit, countless workshops with faculty and staff, comprehensive messaging and strategy, and iterative wireframes. In partnership with the Quarterdeck Digital development team, the outcome was a streamlined website that boasts a bold and simplified design to effectively represent the NEC experience.
